About
I am a reliable and approachable professional with over 25 years of experience across a wide range of construction and architectural projects. I combine a practical and methodical approach with strong creative flair, enabling me to deliver well-considered and innovative solutions.
I am equally comfortable working independently or collaboratively within a team, and my broad project experience has equipped me with the skills, knowledge, and insight to consistently provide a high-quality service tailored to client needs.
I graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2003 with a degree in Construction Management. Since then, I have built a diverse career across the construction and architectural sectors in the UK.
My early career included roles as a Planning Assistant at Atkins and an Architectural Technician with Berkeley Homes, McLennan Architects (Oxford), and MB Design (Surrey). I later progressed into more senior positions, including Project Technician Coordinator at Rectory Homes (Buckinghamshire), Senior Architectural Technician at Linden Homes, Technical Project Manager at Millgate Developments (Twyford, Berkshire), and Technical Coordinator at Taylor Wimpey.
In 2015, I established my own architectural practice in Hampshire, working with developers, builders, and private homeowners. My work involved house extensions, renovation projects, and new-build homes. I provided end-to-end services including design, planning, and technical design, while also managing the business through leadership, decision-making, financial oversight, problem-solving, communication, and strategic planning.
From 2021 to 2023, I took a career break to travel, immersing myself in diverse cultures, histories, and architectural traditions around the world. Upon returning to the UK in 2023, I rejoined the profession, initially at an architectural practice on a temporary basis before moving to a housing developer on the southwest outskirts of London. I later joined another practice closer to home, with both positions focusing on the design and delivery of high-specification client homes.
In November 2025, I will be relocating to Australia to accompany my husband in his professional career and to continue advancing my own within the architectural and construction industry.
Over the years I have worked for a number of well established businesses either directly or through work appointments.
Below are just a few of the businesses Joanne has worked for.
During my work appointments I have undertaken a variety of roles within the design and construction industry.
